Help and support
Sort Admin keeps track of what your home renews or lets expire, and reminds you in time.
Need a hand? Email hello@sortadmin.com and a real person will reply, usually within two working days. Please never send us your recovery key or copies of your documents.
Getting started
Do I need to create an account?
No. Open the app, set up Face ID and an app PIN, save your recovery key, and you’re in.
Why does Sort Admin have its own PIN?
People who steal phones often watch the phone passcode being typed first. A separate app PIN means your vault stays locked even if someone knows your phone passcode.
What is the recovery key?
A code shown once when you set up Sort Admin. If you get a new phone and your vault doesn’t come back through iCloud on its own, the recovery key brings it back. Save the Recovery Kit PDF or write the code down and keep it somewhere safe. We never see it and can’t reset it for you.
How quickly does the app lock?
You choose in Settings, under Lock after leaving the app. Pick Instantly to lock every time you leave the app, or allow a short delay.
Your vault
What is the home score?
A score out of 100 for how sorted your home is. The checklist counts most, then dates and prices on your items; anything overdue costs you points, and backing up to iCloud earns some back. Tap it to see your level and the quickest way to climb. It’s worked out on your phone and only you can see it.
What is “Your details”?
A place for the numbers you need on the phone or filling in a form: car registration, passport number, driving licence number and so on, plus the policy numbers from your renewals. Tap one to copy it. It stays on your phone only and clears from the clipboard after a minute.
Can Siri show my car registration?
Yes. Add it in Your details, then ask “What’s my car reg in Sort Admin?”. Sort Admin opens, asks for Face ID or your app PIN, then shows it. Siri never reads your details out.
How do I add the widget?
Press and hold an empty part of your Home Screen or Lock Screen, tap Edit, then Add Widget, and search for Sort Admin. It shows how many days until your next renewal, never what’s renewing.
Can I enter monthly costs?
Yes. Each item can be paid monthly or yearly, and in its own currency. Your savings are shown per year, and each currency is kept separate rather than mixed.
How do I save an item as a PDF?
Open the item, tap Export as PDF, add a password if you want one, then choose Save to Files or send it on. Once a PDF leaves the app it’s outside Sort Admin’s encryption, so keep it somewhere private, and share any password separately.
Reminders
I’m not getting reminders
Check that notifications are on for Sort Admin in your iPhone’s Settings, under Notifications. Reminders are scheduled on your phone, so they arrive even without an internet connection.
Can I choose when I’m reminded?
Yes, for each item: 6 months, 90, 60, 30 or 7 days before, the day before, or any number of days you like. New car and home insurance items start with 25 days, when quotes tend to be cheapest.
What happens when I open a reminder?
For renewals and documents, Sort Admin shows what to do now: for insurance, get quotes, ring your insurer with your policy number ready to copy, then log the new price. Tick off each step as you go.
Why don’t reminders say what’s due?
So your lock screen never gives anything away. Open Sort Admin to see what needs attention.
A renewal date has passed. What now?
Sort Admin asks whether you renewed. Add the new date and price, and the item rolls on to next time. If the new price is lower, it’s added to what you’ve saved.
Backup and new devices
How do I move to a new iPhone?
Sign in to the new iPhone with the same Apple Account, with iCloud Keychain on, and open Sort Admin. Your vault comes back from iCloud. If it asks for your recovery key, enter it.
The app says some items are “Not backed up”
Your iCloud storage is full, or you’re signed out of iCloud. Everything is still safe on your phone. Free up iCloud space, or sign back in, and Sort Admin catches up on its own.
Does it work on iPad?
Yes. Use the same Apple Account on both and keep iCloud backup on, and your items appear on each.
If I delete the app, is my data gone?
Not from iCloud. Deleting the app leaves your encrypted backup in your iCloud account, so you can reinstall and restore it with your recovery key. It stays encrypted and unreadable without your key.
How do I delete everything?
In Sort Admin, go to Settings, then Delete everything. It removes your vault from your phone and from iCloud, with your PIN, recovery key and settings, and can’t be undone. If you’ve already deleted the app, open Settings on your iPhone, tap your name, then iCloud, then Manage Storage (or Storage), choose Sort Admin and delete its data.
Sort Admin Plus
What do I get with Plus?
Unlimited items, and one purchase covers up to 5 others in your Family Sharing group, each with their own private vault. The free version covers up to 4 items, with reminders on all of them.
What does “Plus for your family too” mean?
Plus works with Apple Family Sharing. Buy it once and everyone in your Family Sharing group gets Plus on their own iPhone at no extra cost. Each person still has their own private vault: nobody can see anyone else’s items.
How do I restore a purchase?
Open Settings in Sort Admin and tap Restore purchases.
How do I cancel?
Subscriptions are managed by Apple. On your iPhone, open Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions. Plus continues to the end of the period you’ve paid for.
What happens if I stop paying?
Nothing is locked away. Everything you’ve added stays readable and editable, and every reminder keeps working. You can’t add more than 4 items until you subscribe again.
Can I get a refund?
Refunds are handled by Apple. Go to reportaproblem.apple.com and sign in with your Apple Account.
Privacy
Can you see what I store?
No. Everything is encrypted on your device before it’s saved or backed up, and the key never leaves your own devices. We have no servers. Read the full privacy notice.
Does Sort Admin store passwords?
No, and it never asks for them. Record that an account exists and where the details are kept, and keep passwords in a password manager.
